Playlister Gives Back to local Kids Ministry

Giving back to the community is an essential mission for Playlister. This month, we donated technical equipment and an Apple TV to Brookside Community Church in central Indiana to help with their Kids Ministry and after-school program.

This month the Playlister team volunteered at Brookside Community Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. As part of our plan to give back 1% of our time, money, and technology to the community. This give-back program was pioneered by Salesforce in the early 2000s and is an approach Playlister has excitedly adopted.

As part of our volunteering effort at Brookside Community Church, Playlister donated a new flat-screen TV, multi-media cart and Apple HD TV. Our CEO & Founder Grant Glas, also presented to the kids on, how to start a business.

CEO & Founder Grant Glas talks to kids at Brookside Community Church

"It was great to talk about entrepreneurship with the kids. I started my professional career as a teacher, and it's always nice to get back into the classroom. My passion is at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and education. Being able to talk to young folks about starting a business, I think it is key to how the church can transform lives in the 21st century and uplift a community. Many of these community center churches are full of hard-working people with great ideas. Giving them the tools they need to succeed is a collective responsibility. I had fun with the presentation and incorporated several movie clips I thought would help the kids understand what midset is required to build something from scratch."

Grant's guide for kids to starting their business includes movie clips from The Pursuit of Happyness, Rudy, Joy, and Dead Poets Society.

"Including multi-media elements in any presentation to students is critical to engagement. With the slides and movie clips, the kids loved the message."
